The importance of exercise, and specifically resistance training, to build muscle mass, increase strength and mobility, improve mood while dereasing anxiety and depression, allow individuals to look and feel better, and improve outcomes after cancer treatment is backed by a considerable amount of data. Our team of physicians and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specilaists have spent thousands of hours coaching individals with cancer to maximize all of these outcomes. Much of the Exercise Oncology field is plagued by inadequate intensity, knowledge, and dosing when it comes to exercise and resistance training. A strong program empowers individuals to push themselves and rise above as opposed to pandering. Strength and ressitance training for cancer survivors is vital. Our group has published the first dose escalation ressitance training study in women treated for breast cancer, showing safety and efficacy. We continue to push the boundaries (and science) behind Exercise Oncology.
